What exactly is endometriosis?

When our endometrium (the tissue that lines the uterus and thickens during the cycle) breaks down, causing bleeding (menstruation), some of it migrates and disperses into the abdomen.

If it is not destroyed normally by our immune system, it can graft itself onto the organs and lead to complications: adhesion, cyst, lesion. This is endometriosis.

Today, 1 woman in 10 suffers from it and suffers from numerous symptoms, including pain (during menstruation, but also pelvic and abdominal pain) that can be very disabling.
