Vaginal flora: How to take care of it?
We can never say it enough, but it's all about balance! And that of the vaginal flora is particularly fragile 🥺
First of all, what is vaginal flora?
It is a group of micro-organisms naturally present in the vaginal cavity. Its composition evolves throughout life and is made up of "good" and "bad" bacteria that live in balance.
And each has a role! 🤓 Some, like lactobacilli, are responsible for protecting against infection by creating a barrier at the vaginal mucosa. 🛡 (These are the safe guys! )
☝🏼But that's when everything is going well! Small things, such as a new pill, pregnancy, breastfeeding, taking certain medications... can come and disturb the balance of the flora. The result: discomfort on a daily basis or even an infection or fungus. 😓
So, just like your beauty rituals, to protect the balance of the vaginal flora and take care of it, we integrate some small gestures in our intimate hygiene routine:
💦The vulvar area is cleaned once a day by hand with a mild soap or a dedicated gel.
⚠️⚠️ No gloves, they're a real bacteria nest!
🚨Exit the vaginal shower!!! We limit the washing to the external part of the vulva.
👙Finally, we prefer cotton underwear and opt for clothes that don't squeeze too tight!
And if, despite all these precautions, the infection or irritation occurs, it is necessary to restore the balance of the vaginal flora.
