Stop the preconceived ideas: A mask weighs down the hair
There are many misconceptions about hair care based on a bad experience.
For example: the mask weighs down the hair!
We give a little nuance to this received idea, right here :
To fully understand the effects of a hair mask on our hair, we must first understand its purpose and action.
A mask will help restructure the hair fiber. It can nourish and help repair hair that has been weakened by heat, pollution, bleaching, the sun or simply by time.
Very often, they are formulated with ingredients that coat the hair, to strengthen it and these active ingredients can be "greasy".
But beware, this is not necessarily a bad thing, on the contrary, since they will help protect, provided that the care is applied in the right way.
For optimum effects and to prevent your hair from becoming weighed down, here are our tips:
✅ Do not use your mask after every shampoo but only when you feel the need (particularly dry, brittle hair...Etc.).
✅ If your scalp has not suffered any particular damage, favor applying only to the lengths and ends. Ditto if you have fine hair.
✅ Also feel free to shorten the application time if necessary.
✅ Finally, some manes prefer a pre-shampoo application, on the lengths and ends. This can totally work if you're on the famous "oily roots/dry ends" team and are afraid of weighing your hair down. 🚨 Be careful though, the hair still needs to be damp to optimize the effects of the actives.
