YOUR vulva
No, the vulva is not a word straight out of a porn movie!
Of course, it is part of your intimate area, but it is not taboo to talk about it and to take care of it: half of the people on this planet have a vulva...
The vulva is composed of all the external female genitalia, that is to say everything that is visible: the labia minora and majora, the clitoris, but also the perineum and the entrance to the vagina. If some women have a complex about the appearance of their vulva - thanks to pornographic movies - you should know that in reality, there are as many vulvas as there are women: small, large, flat, rounded, dark... There is no such thing as a "normal" vulva or not!
What is not normal, however, is an itchy, scratchy, burning, irritated or red vulva. These are signs of an imbalance in your vaginal flora. The cause? Clothes that are too tight, a hormonal change, the pill, overly aggressive hygiene, total body hair removal, sweating. Nothing to worry about, it is often enough to set up an adapted routine which will relieve and protect your intimate vulvar area.
To take care of your vulva, the easiest way is to leave it alone and clean only the external area, with adapted soaps (without perfume and with neutral pH) or simply with water. You should also eliminate potential sources of irritation, starting with the vaginal shower, which disturbs the vaginal flora and can lead to mycosis. Don't hesitate to moisturize with a natural care product, rich in pre and probiotics that rebalance the flora and relieve irritation, such as South Beauty, co-created with Laura @mydearvagina, whose creamy gel texture is a great daily ally.
