💡 Why does heating aggravate skin sensitivity?
Central heating and appliances such as fan heaters considerably dry out the ambient air. Low relative humidity reduces the skin's ability to retain water, accentuating tightness and promoting the appearance of cracks on fragile areas such as the hands or lips.

To avoid sensitive skin in winter, we must act on thehydrationand nutrition and cell renewal.

Sensitive skin in winter: a challenge for microcirculation

🥶 As soon as the cold sets in, the skin is less well protected from external aggressors. With cooler temperatures, the skin is less irrigated because its microcirculation slows down. It will then produce less sebum, which will also have difficulty distributing itself.

Sebum forms a protective layer on the skin that acts as a natural barrier against external aggression and moisture loss. A reduction in its production leads to increased fragility, leaving the skin vulnerable to irritation and dryness.

Sebum is a key element in the skin's protection, and if it's damaged, it's no good, so does the skin.
